Journal of NeuroEngineering and Rehabilitation is calling for submissions to our Collection on Advancing Assistive Technology for People with Disabilities: Insights and Innovations from the Cybathlon 2024.
 

About the Collection

As in previous editions, the Cybathlon 2024 demonstrated groundbreaking advancements in assistive technologies across a wide range of disciplines, reaffirming its role as a global catalyst for innovation and scientific progress. Through a comprehensive set of 8 different race disciplines, the Cybathlon promoted interdisciplinary developments and inspires cutting-edge solutions to improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. Disciplines included technologies such as assistive robots, vision assistance, arm prostheses, leg prostheses, exoskeletons, wheelchairs, brain-computer interfaces and functional electrical cycling.


This Collection is dedicated to the latest insights and innovations emerging from the Cybathlon 2024, highlighting advancements in device design, rehabilitation strategies, neuro-engineering, and user-centered approaches. Contributions will include original research articles presenting robust data and technological advancements, case reports illustrating unique applications and case series providing detailed evaluations of device performance. 

By bringing together research from all disciplines, this Collection aims to provide a comprehensive resource for the scientific community. It highlights the achievements of the Cybathlon 2024, while paving the way for future innovations through practical real-world applications.

Eligibility for the Collection:
If you are interested in contributing to this Collection, please ensure that your manuscript clearly demonstrates a connection to the Cybathlon and its disciplines. Additionally, in your cover letter, elaborate on how the Cybathlon has influenced the work presented in your submission. If you are unsure whether your submission is eligible for this Collection, please submit a request beforehand, including a short abstract and your cover letter.
